I need help with a landlord issue. I just recieved only 200 dollars of my 900 deposit due to carpet stains and?
and supposed “odors” … it was cleaned professionally twice and cost 200 dollars. I was then charged for area rugs to cover the stains and 400 dollars because the carpet “may have to be replaced” but hasn’t been yet. It is currently for rent and still has the old carpet. I lived in the house for 2 months shy of 5 years. It was the old thing type of “renters” carpet with no padding underneath the carpet. I can’t see how he can justify charging me full price of the carpet and entry “stains” which is normal wear and tear. Also, shouldn’t it be prorated? I left the house in pristene condition, he didn’t even have to have it cleaned. Besides the carpet, it is rent ready with the yard in WAY better condition than given. We even painted for the landlord free of charge. I knew we may get charged for the carpet, but paying for carpet to be replaced that “may” not be seems rediculous.

Best potting training advice?
I just got a 6 month Mini Maltese ( she’s sitting on my lap as I’m typing) and I dont know if I should potty train it outdoors or pad training. I already started on the pad a couple of days ago but they wont work and she is peeing and pooping everywhere. I dont want her to potty train her outdoors because she’s so small and will remain small… but I’m getting really frustrated cleaning after her. She goes a few times when I’m walking her but mostly she holds it till she goes indoors… I tried different methods but they never work. Also during the night should I have her sleep wiht me? The first night i slept with her i kept her by my side. She never sleeps in the little bed thats next to me and I afraid her wandering around the ground that she will pee and poop when im sleeping on my rugs and such since she doesnt listen to her pad. I dont know where to start…but first i need tips on indoor potty training. I tried methods in google but none will work. Thanks
buy a crate for when you’re not home & for when she doesn’t sleep in your bed … it’ll keep her safe &out of trouble!
all of this is up to you … if you want her to sleep with you, let her … if you want her ONLY going to the bathroom inside, let her.
I think it’s healthier & cleaner to teach her to go to the bathroom outdoors, but it’s your dog & your home.
I trained my Rottie to go indoors as a puppy, because i didn’t want to leave him in a crate for too long (since my fiance &I at the time had very long days on certain days) anyway … buy wee wee pads, & if she urinates in a spot that she isn’t supposed to, if you don’t catch her, you can’t do anything … but..wipe it up with the absorbent part of the wee wee pad … since dogs live in the moment, she wont remember that she didn’t go on the pad … she’ll smell herself & think she did it .. when she smells it, praise her for peeing there…this will take a few times, but she’ll learn. she’ll associate the two & you’ll have a properly trained pup! once she knows she can only go on a pad, if you were ever to teach her to go out, remove the pad & she’ll hold it in…teach her a command when you praise her for going to the bathroom, so if you give the command outside, she’ll understand what she’s supposed to do.
